New York Chest Waxing
Chest hair removal offers a safe and easy solution for removal of unwanted chest hair. New York offers a variety of waxing salons where chest waxing can be performed. Chest waxing gives men nearly permanent results and a smooth-skin look and feel.
Waxing can be a little painful, you will be waxing chest hairs and then pulling it by the roots, after all. It is extremely important to follow a few directions to keep your waxing sessions safe. If you are waxing yourself, or going to a salon or spa in New York, it is important to understand that if waxing is not done correctly, you could get an infection or even a disease. By following some of the guidelines below, you will be on your way, safely, to a smooth and fresh looking chest.
Tips for Chest Waxing -
- Avoid showering and making the hair wet prior to waxing. Hair absorbs the water making it soft and less likely to adhere well to the wax. Tough hair is easier to wax
- Be sure to test a small area of skin first to make sure there is no acute sensitivity or allergic reaction to chest hair removal with waxing
- Hair should be at least 1/8 inch long. If it isn't wait until it reaches this length.
- Be sure to wash the skin thoroughly and dry it well beforehand to remove any lotions or oils which may prevent the wax from adhering closely to the skin
- Heat the wax carefully so as not to overheat and thus burn the skin when applying. Test on a small area first. The consistency should be soft rather than runny
- If pain and discomfort is a main concern use a pain reducing gel or cream available from pharmacists. These solutions should be applied 30 to 60 minutes before waxing so the skin is numbed beforehand
- Apply a thin layer of wax in the direction of the hair growth and peel back with a rapid movement close to the skin. Do not pull up or out, rather pull back
- Clean the skin with a warm moist towel afterwards to remove excess wax
- Avoid wearing tight clothing over freshly waxed areas to minimize the risk of irritation and ingrown hairs
- After 24-48 hours exfoliate the skin to prevent the dead skin from accumulating and causing hair to become ingrown after chest hair removal
- Brazilian body hard wax achieves the desired results when using waxing for chest hair removal
Physicians do not recommend chest waxing for men suffering from diabetes or who have varicose veins or poor circulation as they are more susceptible to infection. Also, Chest waxing should not be done on areas of skin affected by skin diseases or on skin that is irritated, chapped or suffering from sunburn. Never apply wax to peeling, broken skin or varicose veins.
How to Wax your Chest -
1. The first step is to heat the wax in a container with hot water, or in a microwave-safe container. The wax will be in its optimal state when it is soft enough so it can spread easily on the chest. Be cautious not to use the wax when too hot, as it can irritate the skin and burn the chest and nipples
2. Clean and dry the chest area to be waxed
3. Spread a thin layer of wax throughout the chest area. For a clean waxing session, and to prevent ingrown hairs, be sure to follow the hair growth as you spread the wax
4. Use the wax cloth and hold it down against the waxed area. Await about 25 seconds until the wax has dried
5. Hold your skin firmly with one hand, and pull the wax cloth sharply with the other. For better hair removal and a cleaner look, be sure to pull the strip against your hair growth
6. Continue with these steps until all unwanted hair is removed
7. Apply after-wax cream to affected area once completed. This is an important step to prevent future irritation. Avoid direct sun light to the chest area for at least one day after the chest waxing session
