 New York Eyebrow Waxing

Well shaped eyebrows add to a polished look and enhance a person's natural beauty. Controlling hair growth is a common issue that dates centuries ago. Women, for many years, have tried to find ways to remove that dreadful unwanted hair. Eyebrow waxing is not just for women; as men discover that they can easily tame their eyebrows, too.

What is Eyebrow Waxing? -

Hundreds of years ago, concoctions of creams and waxes were commonly produced and used. Waxes were usually a creation produced from various oils and honeys that were warmed up, placed on area of unwanted hair, and then lifted to remove the unwanted hairs. Waxing has developed over the years to its most current state.

Waxing is considered a semi-permanent hair removal. Even though the hair is lifted from the root, it will grow back in a few weeks. The area is generally hair free for up to eight weeks.

Today, eyebrow waxing can be done at most beauty salons in New York. Today's version is simpler to the concoctions of the past, but gentler on the skin. The waxing method of hair removal is quick, produces results, and is a lot less painful than other eyebrow maintenance techniques like plucking.

How is Eyebrow Waxing performed? -

A typical eyebrow waxing session in New York starts when the client lies down in a chair. The client is asked to close their eyes while the eyebrows are cleansed and a talc powder is applied to the area that is going to be waxed. The wax is then spread over the hair that is going to be removed with a wooden stick.

A piece of fabric with a sticky backing is then placed over the wax. The strip is smoothed and pressed onto the wax before gently being lifted. The skin is held firmly in place to alleviate some of the pain when the strip is lifted. The procedure may sometimes need to be repeated for optimal results. A soothing cream is then applied to the area that was waxed.

What are the benefits and drawbacks of Eyebrow Waxing? -

Eyebrow waxing has its benefits. For starters, a large amount of hair is removed at one time instead of one hair at a time like plucking. Secondly, the hair is removed directly from the root, which impedes its growth. Removal methods that remove hair only at the surface areas will typically see regrowth in a few days.

A less painful solution to removing hair that keeps the area hairless for longer seems like the ideal hair removal method. Some drawbacks do exist to eyebrow waxing. The process can be painful but quick. Waxing can be an expensive beauty maintenance. It is not permanent hair removal solution, so return visits to wax the eyebrows will be needed. Irritation is sometimes experienced in the area that is waxed.

Slight pain or tiny red bumps may be visible, but this will heal within a few hours to a day. These drawbacks are not always experienced but should be considered when deciding if eyebrow waxing is the right form of hair removal.
